Every barbering student completes 1,000 hours of focused, high-quality instruction designed to build real skill and real confidence. Once you’ve successfully completed all required theory and practical hours—and maintained a minimum GPA of 75%—you’ll receive your official Certificate of Completion, marking your advancement from student to industry-ready professional.
We don’t just teach you. We guide you through every step of the licensing process. Our team supports you in preparing and submitting all required documentation for the California Department of Consumer Affairs State Board Licensing Examination. All student workbooks must be completed and submitted to your instructor, and all institutional fees must be paid or arranged before graduation.
After passing your State Board exam, you’ll earn your Registered California Barber License—a credential that opens real doors. With this license, you’ll be qualified to work in professional barbershops, beauty or styling salons, or even launch and run your own barbershop. At The Melos College, we prepare you not just for the exam—but for the career you’re building.
